When Trouble Appears, What Do You Do?

What do you do when trouble appears at your doorstep? I've had one heck of a year where one thing after the other happened. I even started asking myself what sin I had committed for God to punish me. But, I realized that the enemy wanted me to feel that way. He wants me to blame God. However, amid my trouble, I decided to trust God to see me through my storms. Even when the tides were high, I trusted God.

Sometimes I had to faith my way out of the storm. God promised to be with me, even in the valley of the shadow of death. I prayed to God, read His Word and believed that He would care for me and all that I was going through.

Prayer is my weapon to fight my daily battles. I pray in and with faith because Jesus said, "And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." (Matthew 21:22) After praying, I look to see if I can find some good in what is happening. Then I give thanks to God for the good things. The Bible says, "weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

When I encounter trouble, I also meditate on the following scripture - "Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing." (James 1:2-4 NLT) What do you do when trouble appears?
