There is a cruise brand that often offers a promotion at the last minute. This promotion is called "Pack & Go." It is a pitch to fill empty staterooms by offering a significantly reduced rate. But you have to be ready to pay in full and you have to be ready to pack and go! If you hesitate for too long, you will miss out on a great deal and the opportunity to experience something new.
God told Abram, now known as Abraham, to leave his country and all of his relatives, including his father, to go live in an unfamiliar place where he would have no relationship with anyone. Abraham did not hesitate to pack and go. He left behind his father, relatives, and any friends he may have had. The reward God offered Abraham was to make him into a great nation, to bless him, and to make him famous. We are blessed because of Abraham's obedience to pack up and go; to follow where God was leading him. Abraham made the decision to trust God, and in the end, a blessed nation was born from the seed of Abraham—a seed of obedience.
Just as God called Abraham to pack and go, there may be moments in our lives when God calls us to step out in faith and obedience. There is a purpose within us that only God knows. Don't allow fear of the unknown to hinder you from receiving what God has in store for you and for others who will be impacted through you. As it says in Psalm 32:8, "The Lord says, 'I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.'" If He led Abraham, He will lead you. So, pack & go!
Prayer: Dear God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob, thank You for Your faithfulness towards us. Our desire is to have the faith of Abraham. When You tell us to pack and go, we will do so without hesitation. We will walk in faith and not by what we see. You are Creator of our purpose, the One who knows the plans for our lives. We submit the power of Your will. Lead us to where You will have us to be. Allow Your hand of blessings to fall upon us because of Your love for us. We love You Lord and we thank You for expected end! In Jesus name. Amen
Genesis 12:1-4 NLT
"The Lord had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.” So Abram departed as the Lord had instructed, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran."
Psalms 32:8 NLT
"The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you."
