Obeisance Unto the King

It saddened my heart when the Queen of England passed. There were millions of people who paid homage to her. During her time as Queen, millions made obeisance before her. Everywhere she went, people would bow before the Queen, and respect for her was displayed. Imagine being in the royal castle and every time the Queen entered the room you had to bow. However, according to their website, you are not obligated to bow to any of the royal family including the Queen. She doesn't even demand that you do so. It is done as tradition. There are even superstar entertainers that some feel a need to pay obeisance. Maybe it is because of who they are in this world. Now, don't get me wrong, to each its own. I'm not here to bring judgment on anyone. So what does obeisance mean? It is defined as "a show of respect or acknowledgment of the authority or importance of another, such as a bow or curtsy." As believers, we serve the King of kings. Jesus is Lord of Lords. The Bible tells us that every last one of us shall pay deep obeisance to the true King. Romans 14:11 says, "For it is written: “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.”

You see, we do not get to choose whether or not we will bow. It says we shall bow before Jesus. The Word says that every tongue shall confess Christ Jesus as Lord. It doesn't matter if you don't believe in Jesus right now. You will still bow before Him and confess that He is Lord. We are all expected to pay obeisance to our King. I want to encourage you to get to know Him. Don't wait until it is too late. We should all have the desire to hear those six words..."Well-done good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:21) And not hear, "Depart from Me for I never knew you" (Matthew 7:23).

Blessings to each of you!
