Love Doesn't Cost You Nothing!

This month is what some deem as "Love Month". It is during this time that we confess or express our love to others. We go out of our way for flowers, balloons, chocolate candy, cards and some even spend on jewelry. Now, don't get me wrong I love all of these. B.U.T., if I didn't get any of them I would still be alright. Because "love doesn't cost you nothing".

Many arguments have begun because one person did not buy the other person a gift on that special day. I think LOVE should be shown 365 days a year. The word of God says in 1 Corinthians 13 verses 4-8 that, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails." So if this is the true definition of what love is supposed to look like, then "love doesn't cost you nothing.

Love is not materialistic. Love for others is not counted on whether or not someone buys you a gift on a certain day. Real love outweighs the cost of flowers, or candy or a ring. I know some may say but it is a kind gesture. Maybe. But check your attitude when you don't receive a kind gesture. I'm just saying.

Now, unconditional love, a love that can't be paid back is what God gave us when Jesus paid the cost on Calvary. God loves us so much that the blood of His Son paid the price for our sins. Love covers a multitudes of sin, Therefore, in this way, we should be able to love others as God has loved us, unconditionally.

Love doesn't cost you nothing! Jesus paid the cost!
