Though nowadays, the word love is thrown around haphazardly. Love is not simply a word or our thoughts. It is demonstrated in our actions toward one another. Love is checking on your neighbor when you haven't seen them in a while. It is making sure the needs of others are met. Love is putting others before yourself.
In the world we live in today, we see our share of people walking around spilling hate with all of the crime being committed. Jesus gave us a new command and that is to love one another as He has loved us. (John 13:34)
In 1 Corinthians chapter 13, which some call the Love chapter, tells us in verses 4–8 that, "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!"
