God has placed a gift in all of us. We should stand ready to run with the assignment God has given us. However, we must note that there is a process; before making a true impact, we must go through it. One great example is the life of Ezra. His heart was fully committed to God and the word of God.
In Ezra 7, we see that “This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the Law of the Lord and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel.” Ezra saw the importance of studying the word of God. Before we can act on the assignment or share our spiritual gifts, it would be beneficial to model what Ezra did.
Here are 3 things to keep in mind regarding the word of God:
1. Learn it: Ezra studied and discovered the truth himself.
2. Live it: Ezra practiced and applied what he had learned.
3. Teach it: Ezra passed on to others what he had already embraced.
God desires to construct our being before our doing!
