Hope is defined as "a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen or a feeling of trust."
I remember a season in my life when I thought all hope was lost. Every corner I turned there was a situation, sometimes a major one. I felt I had nowhere to turn or no one to turn to for help. Life was crashing, and walls were caving in fast. The pressure of being a single mother was weighing heavy on my shoulders. I wanted to give up. I started doing the only thing I had not done. I cried out to God! I started praying to God asking for help. My faith in myself had run out. He was my only other choice. I had to put my hope in Him to change my situation. My faith was in God to change me. Hebrews 11:1 AMP tells us that, "Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]." It was now faith that brought me to a place of confidence in God. In Isaiah 41:10 God says, "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’' During the trials that come with life here on earth, my hope is secured in God. I don't have to throw in the towel. I don't have to feel defeated by circumstances that arise. My God is with me to strengthen me and to securely uphold me in His righteous right Hand.
