So, let me ask a question. Have you ever encountered someone home you thought you knew until a situation happened that you never thought they do? This was a complete change in their behavior, a change in their action. It caught you completely by surprise and unexpectedly. How did that change your perception of them? Think about that for a moment. I can tell you that there is one person who would never surprise you in their actions. Their character is unchangeable. It is unwavering. You don't ever have to worry about God changing. Everything he says he will do, you can expect it to happen. God is a promise keeper. He is forever faithful to his word, which is true and everlasting. His word is our unshakable foundation. Most of all his love for us is unchanging. Hebrews chapter ten verse twenty-three tells to "Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise." Truth it is!
Throughout the Bible, we see God being the same just, gracious, merciful, loving, kind, gentle, faithful and patient God in every situation.
The Word of God also tells us in Hebrews 13:8 that "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
The immutable character of God gives us a guarantee that God will never change on us. We can solely rely on Him to stay true to His word every time, not just on occasion. We can rely on God's faithfulness, even when we're Unfaithful. What a relief it is, right? I'm so glad to know that we can trust God to be the same today and tomorrow. No surprises!
