The Necessities of Life

Matthew 6:33 - "Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need." (New Living Translation) This verse reminds us that our priorities in life should be focused on seeking God's kingdom and righteousness, rather than worrying about gaining material possessions. In the world we live, it can be easy to become consumed with the pursuit of fortune, fame and material things. We are bombarded with messages that tell us that we need to have the latest tech gadgets, the newest cars, and the trendiest clothes in order to be happy and fulfilled. However, the reality is that these things are not the necessities of life. Let me say that again, these things are not the necessities of life. The necessities of life are the things that sustain us and allow us to live in a healthy and fulfilling way. These include things like food, water, shelter, and clothing. While it is important to have enough of these things to meet our basic physical needs, we must remember that they are not the most important things in life. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus reminds us that if we seek first God's kingdom and righteousness, then all of these things will be given to us as well. This means that when we prioritize our relationship with God and focus on living a righteous and holy life, we will be provided for in every way that we need. Maybe someone one is asking, what does it mean to seek God's kingdom and righteousness? It means making God the center of our lives and aligning our will and desires with His. It means living a life of service to others, practicing forgiveness and compassion, extending grace and striving for justice and equality. When we do these things, we will find that our material needs are met as well. Let us strive to live our lives with this perspective in mind, and trust that God will take care of the rest. #GodsKingdom #Righteousness #KingdomofGod #Matthew633
