In today's world, private life is slowly disappearing. Nowadays, we are so quick to pick up our phone and run to tell all of our business. When we are hurt, we tell it. When we are sick, we tell it. When we are jobless, we tell it. We tell everything! We tell the world when our spouses are acting up, when our children have disappointed us or when we've gotten bad news from the doctor. Be honest with yourself!
There has been a time or two, maybe even three, that you have asked for prayer for something. Did you seek the wisdom of God first before putting that request out there? A very wise woman told me once that you shouldn't let everybody pray for you. Now, that's another subject. Back to the subject at hand. Before we run to the phone, we should first run to God's throne. We should want to know what He has to say about the issue before seeking the advice or prayer of others. Just maybe He has something for you to do. Just maybe He wants you to pray and fast about the matter.
Our scripture for today comes from the wisdom of Solomon. One of the wisest kings that lived. In Proverbs 2:4-6 NKJV, Solomon says, If you seek her as silver, And search for her as for hidden treasures; Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He is referring to the wisdom of God! I urge you to "Run to the Throne Before You Run to the Phone!"
