We were all born with a moral compass. The problem is we either are unaware or choose to ignore its directions. Now, you may be asking yourself what I am talking about. Well, let's agree that all of us are headed somewhere, to do something. If this is the case, the question is who is leading us? Are we are being led by our emotions? Are we being led by current situations?
Some of us must admit that we make decisions based on how we feel about certain things or at that very moment. We move because others are going that way, so we decide to follow. We think a certain way because our parents think that way. Some of the decisions we make are based on our upbringing.
If you are a believer, then you must know that the Holy Spirit resides in you. He is your moral compass. In 1st John 2:27, Jesus said, "But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don't need anyone to teach you what is true. For the spirit teaches you everything you need to know, and what he teaches you is true-it is not a lie." Just as you have to look at a real compass to know which way to go, you have to listen, be tuned in with the Holy Spirit as he gives directions according to the word of God. Following your moral compass or in a spirit can only lead you down the right path. Choosing to follow your feelings, the directions of others or going with the flow, would never lead you where God is trying to take you.
