The Entitlement Mentality - Do You Feel Entitled?

First, let me just say, there are many people walking around with an entitlement mentality. Just in case you didn't know, I looked up the definition and found that an entitlement mentality is defined as "a sense of deservingness or being owed a favor when little or nothing has been done to deserve special treatment." It's known as the “you owe me” attitude.

Entitlement is profoundly known to be a narcissistic personality trait; that's another blog post. These individuals believe in their hearts that they deserve privileges or recognition for things they didn't earn. Having a sense of entitlement is a personality trait that absolutely no Believer in Christ should have. You see. In Romans 3:23, we are made aware that "all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." This simply means that none of us deserve anything God has given or has to give. Yet, there are some so called Believers and of course, non-believers walking around as if the world owes them something. Those with an EM have a habit of thinking more highly of themselves and will belittle others. Do you think God is happy with these individuals? You may be wondering what sent me here. Well, I have been watching a lot of supposed to be Christian leaders act as if they are entitled. I am not here to call out any names, but it made me a little curious about feeling like you are entitled to have what you want or do whatever you want to do. It also made look at myself to see if there was any area that I felt entitled. I praise God that there wasn't any. Let's be clear, because we are sinful and do not possess the ability to save ourselves from damnation; Jesus did it for us. Therefore, we are not entitled to salvation as we did not earn it. Jesus died for us because He loves us. We are not entitled to the grace that God extends to us daily as we don't deserve it. He gives it because He is a gracious God. Father God, we know that every good and perfect gift comes from You, and we give You thanks. We give thanks to You above all for the supreme gift of salvation and eternal life through Your Son, Jesus. Thank you for rescuing us from sin and placing us on the pilgrimage that leads to eternal life with You in heaven. Thank you for the time in the desert and famine seasons of life, when Lord, we were forced to give up trying in our own strength and lean solely on You. Father, we thank You for all the good times, for the beauty of the earth, for the blessings of each hour and for the joy of human love. Lord thank You most of all, for the gift of Yourself in our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. #Entitlement #Mentality #Narcissistic #Salvation #Pilgrimage #Heaven #EternalLife
